The Ningxia-Hunan ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project is China's first UHV DC transmission project that transmits the electricity generated by the wind and solar power facilities in the country's gobi and desert areas to other regions. Upon operation, it is anticipated to transmit more than 36 billion kilowatt-hours of power from Ningxia to Hunan annually, reducing carbon emission by over 16 million tonnes. It will effectively improve the power supply capacity of Hunan Province, and help realize a balance of power supply and demand over a medium to long period of time.

The photos, taken on April 1, show workers setting up fittings on the ±800 kV Yibing-Jinhua power transmission line in Lengshi Town, Anhua County, Yiyang. The installation of the overhead transmission line in this section has been completed.
