Changsha's import and export value reached 182.11 billion yuan in the first eight months of 2024, ranking 14th among provincial capitals nationwide (including municipalities directly under the central government) and 4th in the central regions of China, the Xingsha Customs Authority released the data recently. In the meantime, the city's exports stood at 114.63 billion CNY, while imports climbed 12.6% year on year to 67.48 billion CNY.

星沙海關(guān)近日公布數(shù)據(jù),，今年前8個(gè)月，長沙市進(jìn)出口1821.1億元,，進(jìn)出口總值居全國省會(huì)城市（含直轄市）第十四位,、中部六省第四位。其中，出口1146.3億元,；進(jìn)口674.8億元,，同比增長12.6%。

From January to August, Changsha's imports from and exports to the BRICS countries reached 30.35 billion CNY, up 12.5% year on year. The city's trade with Africa amounted to 13.61 billion CNY, accounting for 40% of the province's total trade value with Africa. The number of the city's foreign trade enterprises with actual performance reached nearly 3,500, including nearly 750 production-oriented enterprises, with imports and exports rising 11.3% year on year to 53.54 billion CNY. Nearly 90 enterprises specializing in niche sectors recorded actual import and export business performance, and imports and exports by these enterprises grew 27.6% year on year to 4.56 billion CNY. In particular, major enterprises such as Anmuquan and Willfar saw their import and export value multiply.

In the first eight months, construction machinery manufacturers represented by Zoomlion, Sany, Sunward, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry (CRCHI) exported 20.12 billion CNY of construction machinery, up 29% from the same period last year. In particular, the export value of special purpose motor vehicles reached 6.94 billion CNY, up 34.5% year on year; that of forklifts and lifting and handling vehicles surged 106.7% year on year to 4.3 billion CNY; and that of cranes and loading bridges grew 46.9% year on year to 2.6 billion CNY. BYD, Hunan Anker Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., and other enterprises exported 5.95 billion CNY of the "new three"—electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products, surging 82.4% year on year. Among them, the exports of electric vehicles rose 203% year on year to 3.8 billion CNY.
