On February 15, the international forum on Smart Rural Education & Children’s Holistic Development was held at the Academic Lecture Hall of the School of Foreign Languages at Hunan University. The forum focused on the development of smart rural education and the holistic development of children, attracting numerous domestic and international experts and scholars who gathered to explore the development path of rural education in the age of intelligence and new initiatives for children’s holistic development.

The forum began with speeches by Liu Yingjie, a Level II Bureau Rank Official of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and leaders from the School of Foreign Languages at Hunan University. They expressed warm greetings to the attendees. During the keynote session, experts and scholars from both home and abroad discussed in-depth on several cutting-edge topics.

Dr. Muaz Mohd Zaini Makhtar and Dr. Nor Asniza Ishak from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) each presented on "Smart Sustainability: Educating the Next Generation for AI-Driven Green Technologies" and "Harnessing AI for STEM Education: Preparing Future Innovators in a Digital Age" respectively. They emphasized integrating AI into education to cultivate future talents with innovation capabilities and sustainability awareness.

Chinese scholars, including Professor Zhang Shaoxiong from Central South University, Professor Luo Zhongyou from Hunan University, and Professor Jiang Xinsheng from Hunan Normal University, analyzed the role of smart education in advancing the high-quality development of rural primary education. They also discussed the transformation of teachers' roles in the AI era and explored key challenges and solutions for rural education in the age of intelligent technologies.

After the keynote speeches, Professor Tang Songlin from Hunan University, together with the attendees, recited two original poems to express the vision of AI empowering rural education through art, which resonated deeply with the audience.

As the initiator of the forum, Dr. Fan Chunxiang, Associate Professor at the School of Foreign Languages, Hunan University, concluded the event with three key terms: "Breaking, Coexisting, Evolving". “Increasing investment in smart education, enhancing teachers' digital literacy, and promoting the deep integration of technology and education were essential ways to address existing issues in rural education.” This became the consensus among the participants.
