The National Symphony Orchestra 2025 New Year's Concert was held at the Changsha Concert Hall recently. This is the first show staged by UK's National Symphony Orchestra in Changsha, and the second time that the orchestra has performed in China after its first tour in 2016. The National Symphony Orchestra is the only symphony orchestra in the UK that carries the name "National" and enjoys a high reputation in the UK and abroad. During the New Year's concert, the orchestra performed Strauss' works with New Year vibes and Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World." In addition, British soprano Annette Wardell also sang songs, including Puccini's "Oh My Dear Papa" and "Dancing All Night" from the famous Broadway musical "My Fair Lady".

During the exchange, Vice Mayor Gao Wenqi said that the New Year's concert is a cultural exchange that transcends national borders and bears witness to the continuous deepening of friendly exchanges between the Chinese and British people. It is hoped that the seeds of Chinese and British cultures will take root and flourish through exchanges and open a new chapter of win-win cooperation.
