The "Image Possibilities" Coproduction Plan 2024 has started soliciting proposals for short videos, short and long documentaries and adaptations of existing videos from home and abroad to tell Chinese stories.

為講好中國(guó)故事,，第二屆“新時(shí)代·新影像”中外聯(lián)合創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃（以下簡(jiǎn)稱“創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃”）開始面向國(guó)內(nèi)外廣泛征集紀(jì)錄片、短視頻,、微短劇等影像選題和改編成片。

The launch ceremony for IP Plan 2024 was held in Changsha, Hunan province, on Tuesday, with the event hosted by China International Communications Group, CCTV-9, Discovery Channel and Hunan Broadcasting System.

7月30日,，該創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃啟動(dòng)儀式在湖南長(zhǎng)沙舉辦,。本次儀式由中國(guó)外文局、中央廣播電視總臺(tái)影視劇紀(jì)錄片中心CCTV-9,、Discovery探索頻道及湖南廣播影視集團(tuán)等單位共同舉辦,。

The first IP Plan, from 2022 to 2023, saw 62 documentaries win support.

2022年至2023年的首屆創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃共評(píng)出62部紀(jì)錄片獲得支持。

Apart from soliciting videos and documentaries that have already been made, the plan also invites creative ideas and offers teams professional training, guidance and funding in video making and adaptation as well as media exposure, according to the organizers.

據(jù)主辦方介紹，除了面對(duì)視頻紀(jì)錄片成片進(jìn)行征集,，也鼓勵(lì)“創(chuàng)意自選”方式進(jìn)行創(chuàng)作,，并將為創(chuàng)作團(tuán)隊(duì)提供專業(yè)培訓(xùn)、創(chuàng)作指導(dǎo),、制作支持以及傳播推廣等方面的扶持,。

Outstanding proposals will be broadcast on CCTV-9 and other international media channels.

入選優(yōu)秀作品將在CCTV-9及其他國(guó)際媒體頻道播出。

The plan encourages filmmakers to understand what's happening in China and what the true China is, they said.

主辦方表示,，此項(xiàng)創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃鼓勵(lì)電影制作人了解中國(guó)正在發(fā)生的故事和真正的中國(guó)形象,。

Malcolm Clarke, a British documentary filmmaker and a mentor for IP Plan, said it is getting more difficult to find a platform and an audience for Chinese content in the West.

英國(guó)紀(jì)錄片導(dǎo)演、創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃導(dǎo)師柯文思（Malcolm Clarke）表示,，中國(guó)內(nèi)容在觸達(dá)西方平臺(tái)及受眾上正變得愈發(fā)艱難,。

There is a need for more filmmakers from all over the world — and more filmmakers from China — to be making films about China, Clarke said.

他表示，現(xiàn)在需要更多來(lái)自世界各地以及中國(guó)的電影制作人來(lái)制作關(guān)于中國(guó)的電影,。

Arthur Jones, British filmmaker and documentary director and a participant in the first IP Plan, said language can be a barrier for foreign filmmakers and directors when making films about China, but can also be an advantage as they can make the film as an outsider.

英國(guó)電影及紀(jì)錄片導(dǎo)演,、首屆創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃的參與者羅飛（Arthur Jones）則表示，語(yǔ)言可能是外國(guó)電影制作人和導(dǎo)演在制作關(guān)于中國(guó)電影時(shí)的阻礙,，但也可能成為他們的優(yōu)勢(shì),，讓他們可以作為旁觀者來(lái)制作電影。

Du Zhanyuan, the head of China International Communications Group, said he hopes Chinese and international directors and filmmakers can join hands to record the footprints of China's reform and opening-up, the hardworking Chinese people and how the country develops, and share it with the world. From small angles and personal perspectives, they can reflect grand themes and present a trustful and respectful image of China to the world, he said.

中國(guó)外文局局長(zhǎng)杜占元在致辭中指出,，期待參與創(chuàng)作計(jì)劃的中外導(dǎo)演攜手合作,，共同記錄中國(guó)改革開放的足跡，中國(guó)人民踔厲奮發(fā)的足跡,，中國(guó)與世界共同發(fā)展的足跡,，將個(gè)體視角融入宏大敘事之中，以小切口折射大時(shí)代,，讓海內(nèi)外受眾更加了解可信,、可愛、可敬的中國(guó),。
